Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World is now playing in theaters.
In the first fight between Sam Wilson/Captain America (Anthony Mackie) and Copperhead (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson), a member of the Serpent Society in Captain America: Brave New World, Copperhead wields knuckle dusters and knives made of Adamantium.

During the fight, Copperhead uses an Adamantium dagger against Captain America, cutting through his Vibranium suit. Why didn’t the movie explain this? Also, Japan only recently extracted Adamantium—when did they have time to make the weapon? They found Adamantium, and now countries are fighting over this metal, which is stronger and more indestructible than Wakanda’s Vibranium.

In an interview with EW, Marvel producer Nate Moore said, “What we didn’t want was Tiamut to be popped in the background of a bunch of different movies without any context or story.” he added, “So we wanted to make sure when we went back to that idea, we had a really good reason to do so. Merging Tiamut with the idea of it being the birthplace of adamantium we thought was really interesting because it’s something that’s only in the MCU. Obviously, we take our cues from publishing a lot, but we are building a massive story in the MCU and we wanted to start to layer on what we’ve done in the past to make it all feel like one cohesive story.”
In the first week of its release, Captain America: Brave New World made $192.4 million globally. The film received a 6.1/10 on IMDb, 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 42% on Metacritic. It debuted with a B- on CinemaScore, marking the lowest CinemaScore ever for an MCU movie.
Directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton. The film stars Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Rosa Salazar, and Xosha Roquemore.
