Will Johnny Depp return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?
Johnny Depp is open to returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and reports suggest that Disney is considering working with him again for another film. However, no official confirmation has been made yet. Depp starred as Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series, which grossed over $4.5 billion at the global box office.
Depp last appeared as Jack Sparrow in 2017’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” and a sequel was planned. However, in 2018, Disney reportedly fired Depp from the franchise due to his highly publicized legal dispute with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, which involved allegations of domestic violence.
In 2022, Depp won a defamation trial against Amber Heard, and the jury awarded him $15 million in damages. Depp’s total damages were later reduced to $10.35 million, and the jury also awarded $2 million in damages to Heard in her counterclaim.
When will “Pirates of the Caribbean 6” begin development?
“Pirates of the Caribbean 6” will start development once the ongoing strikes are resolved.
