Craig Mazin, the creator of HBO’s ‘The Last of Us‘ series, has confirmed that he and Ted Elliott, who wrote the script for the first four “Pirates of the Caribbean” films, have written a script for a new “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Mazin revealed that he and Ted Elliot wrote a script for a new “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. He said, “We pitched it and thought there’s no way they’re buying it; it’s too weird. And they did! And then he wrote a fantastic script, and the strike happened, and everyone’s waiting around.”

Johnny Depp is open to returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and reports suggest that Disney is considering working with him again for another film. In 2022, Depp won a defamation trial against Amber Heard, and the jury awarded him $15 million in damages. Depp’s total damages were later reduced to $10.35 million, and the jury also awarded $2 million in damages to Heard in her counterclaim.
