Johnny Depp is Open to Return as Jack Sparrow in Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5'

Johnny Depp, who played Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, is open to working with Disney again and returning in “Pirates of the Caribbean 6.”

Depp last appeared as Jack Sparrow in 2017’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” and a sequel was planned. However, in 2018, Disney reportedly fired Depp from the franchise due to his highly publicized legal dispute with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, which involved allegations of domestic violence. In 2022, Depp won a defamation trial against Amber Heard, and the jury awarded him $15 million in damages. Depp’s total damages were later reduced to $10.35 million, and the jury also awarded $2 million in damages to Heard in her counterclaim.
