Celine Song‘s ‘The Materialists,’ starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans, has begun filming in New York City.
On April 20, Johnson and Pascal were spotted filming on the set of ‘Materialists’. In the scene, Pascal has a flower bouquet and he is presenting it to Johnson. You can see the images below.
‘The Materialists’ is set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, a city that never sleeps and is known for its diverse and dynamic relationships, Materialists provides a unique glimpse into the lives of the city’s elite. Lucy’s (Johnson) expertise in matchmaking is highly sought after by those willing to pay a premium for her services. However, the film hints at complications that arise, leading to a toxic love triangle that threatens to unravel the lives of all involved.
The rom-com is written and directed by Song, previously acclaimed for her breakout directorial debut ‘Past Lives‘. The film will have the same producers as ‘Past Lives’: Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler from Killer Films, along with David Hinojosa from 2AM.
A24 will reunite with Song, partnering with Killer Films and 2AM for the production. A24 will oversee the global release of the film.
‘The Materialists’ hits theaters in 2025.
