Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale.

The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale has come to an end, and it featured one of the series’ most violent sequences yet. Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin loses control and attacks Daredevil’s supporters.

After Kingpin crushed Phil Gallo’s skull in Season 1, many thought the series could not get more brutal. However, Season 2’s finale may have topped it.

After Matt Murdock reveals Fisk’s crimes in court, Wilson Fisk begins losing control. The courthouse is surrounded by angry protestors, and Fisk is told to leave the city forever. The pressure and humiliation push him into a violent rage.

So what’s next for Kingpin? We are going to see a major transformation for the character in Season 3. In a recent set image, Vincent D’Onofrio was spotted with a new look, featuring a white beard that gives him a Santa Claus-like appearance while standing on a New York City street.

Vincent D’Onofrio recently spoke to CBR about what makes telling Wilson Fisk’s long-term story so rewarding.

D’Onofrio said, “It really depends on the scripts, what direction they take the character in, and what direction they dictate. You get more comfortable in the skin, which I think is the obvious answer.”

He added, “But you still have to be inspired by the words, inspired by your acting partners, inspired by the tone the show is heading in, and how everything else works. You’re still looking for inspiration.”

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:

“Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock fights back from the shadows, determined to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.”

In Season 2, Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter / Bullseye, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Clark Johnson as Cherry, Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Royce Johnson as Brett Mahoney, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones; with recurring appearances by Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor, and guest appearances by Camila Rodriguez as Angela del Toro, Susan Varon as Josie, Sydney Parra, and Annie Parisse.

All episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 are now available to stream on Disney+.
