The second season of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again has already wrapped filming and is set to premiere next year. Recently, the show was renewed for a Season 3, with production set to begin next year.
In a recent interview with Collider, the show’s executive producer Jesse Wigutow revealed that Season 2 will be “very satisfying” and described as a “big New York City story,” mixing crime, politics, and palace intrigue inside City Hall, with Wilson Fisk pulling the strings.
This season’s core conflict is between Matt Murdock (Daredevil) and Wilson Fisk (Kingpin). They deeply hate each other but also deeply need each other. The finale strips away distractions, leaving Murdock and Fisk face-to-face.

Wigutow said, “There’s not a whole lot I can say, obviously, in terms of specifics, but it is a very big portrait that we’re telling — a big New York City story, crime, politics. Obviously, we have Mayor Fisk and all of the palace intrigue around him inside City Hall. All of it, I think, is really awesome. What I take away most from the season — and we’re just going through cuts now, as we’re about to embark on Season 3 — is that we told this really big story, it got very wide, and then we kind of drive it in the finale to really what matters most.”
Wigutow added, “I think what people care about are these two characters and the conflict that they’re in — how deeply they hate each other, and how deeply they need each other. We really carve out all the stuff around them that we’ve built up, and it’s just the two of them, face-to-face, in what I think is a really satisfying climax.”
Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again was praised for its risks and returning fan-favorite characters, but it also faced criticism for feeling uneven, as if parts of it had been repurposed from the scrapped 2023 version. That year, Marvel rebuilt the show from the ground up with Dario Scardapane taking over as showrunner, creating a new pilot and finale to bring greater clarity, though not all of the previously filmed material fit perfectly.

Wigutow said, “We are still in the process. It’s so fresh in my mind — I’m looking at cuts and thinking about what we can improve. I think Season 2 has a singular vision in a way that Season 1 did not. Season 1 wasn’t exactly hodgepodge, but it was pieced together like a jigsaw. We created a new pilot and a new finale, and that’s really where the clarity came from, which I thought worked well. I think Season 2 has that same clarity of vision. The showrunner has been fantastic and brought a strong point of view that we’ve executed on. Nothing is ever perfect, but I do believe Season 2 is quite good, and I think it’s going to be very satisfying.”
In Season 2, Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter / Bullseye, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Clark Johnson as Cherry, Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher, Royce Johnson as Brett Mahoney, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones; with recurring appearances by Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor, and guest appearances by Camila Rodriguez as Angela del Toro, Susan Varon as Josie, Sydney Parra, and Annie Parisse.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ in March 2026 with eight episodes released weekly, as part of the MCU’s Phase Six. Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+.
