The filming of Jumanji 4 has been confirmed to begin in November 2025, according to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It was also recently reported by Production List that filming will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
During the Toronto International Film Festival (via ScreenRant), Johnson confirmed that production on Jumanji 4 will kick off in November 2025. He also revealed during a panel: “The films that I made in the past, I love them… I’ll go back to making them again.”
The film, written and directed by Jake Kasdan (Jumanji: The Next Level, Red One), will serve as the fourth installment in the franchise but the third entry in the Dwayne Johnson-led trilogy that began with 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
In Jumanji 4, Johnson will return as Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Jack Black as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, and Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse. The rest of the cast will be announced soon.
The original Jumanji (1995), starring Robin Williams and directed by Joe Johnston, grossed $268 million worldwide and became one of the most iconic fantasy films of its era.
The franchise was revived with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), which earned $962 million, followed by Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), which grossed $801 million. Together, the three films have generated over $2 billion globally.
Jumanji 4 will be produced by Ted Field, Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia.
Sony Pictures has officially scheduled Jumanji 4 for release on December 11, 2026.
