The upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel will reportedly be titled The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth. David Fincher will direct the film for Netflix.
According to a Deadline report, The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth follows Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth as he navigates Hollywood as a “studio fixer,” and it will take place eight years after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Deadline wrote, “Quentin Tarantino creates these characters and mythologies so rich they beg for sequels he never had time to make. He was going to revive Brad Pitt’s stuntman character from Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood.” They added, “Quentin decided to do something else for his final film. Now David Fincher will direct Pitt for Netflix what I’ve heard is called The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth.”
The sequel, being produced under Fincher’s first-look deal with Netflix, marks a shift from the original’s theatrical release (via Sony Pictures) to streaming. Tarantino has penned the script, which was bought by Netflix for $20 million.
Speaking on The Big Picture podcast, Sean Fennessey — a friend of Quentin Tarantino — said he asked his sources and confirmed that “it seems like this movie is actually happening.”
Fennessey said, “The only other important information I’ve learned, which I believe is confirmed, is that the movie takes place in 1977, which is roughly eight years after Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood — so it’s a different time in Cliff’s life.”
The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth is expected to begin filming in California in July 2025 and is set to be released on Netflix in 2026.
