David Leitch‘s ‘Fall Guy‘ starring Ryan Gosling, will begin filming in August. In the film, Gosling plays the role of a stuntman. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 1, 2024, through Universal Pictures.
The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch from a screenplay by Drew Pearce. The film also stars Emily Blunt as a prosthetic makeup artist, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a movie star who goes missing, Stephanie Hsu as the movie star’s personal assistant, Winston Duke as the stuntman’s best friend, Hannah Waddingham as a film producer, Teresa Palmer, and Ben Knight.
In an interview with Collider, The producer Kelly McCormick said, “David coming from stunts, and telling a story about a stuntman who is coming into his own through having to investigate a crime. [It’s] incredibly special in the sense that we get to do – We’re really trying to do a lot of practical action on this. We always do, but in this case, it’s a really big practical action. And it just feels like we’re paying homage to the stunt community and to, really, cinema and those of us who make the movies. And it’s sort of a love letter to the industry. On top of it just being really fun and what I think will be a really good time for the audience.”
The Fall Guy is an adaptation of the 1980s TV series of the same name created by Glen A. Larson, which starred Lee Majors. Produced by David Leitch, Ryan Gosling, Kelly McCormick, and Guymon Casady.
The Fall Guy will hit theaters on March 1, 2024.
