The first trailer for DC’s Blue Beetle will be released soon, as confirmed by one of the film’s cast members.
The cast member George Lopez shared an image of him along with the Blue Beetle co-stars, Harvey Guillen, Xolo Maridueña, and director Angel Manuel Soto while testing the first trailer. Lopez revealed that the trailer will be released soon. He wrote, “TRAILER [is] COMING SOON:”
The official trailer for DC’s Blue Beetle will be released on April 2023. The film’s release date is already set for August 18, 2023.
During the filming, we get to see the first images of Xolo Maridueña’s Blue Beetle. The costume is identical to that seen in the DC comics. The film was first set for an HBO Max release. but later it changed to a theatrical release.
In DC Comics, Jaime Reyes, a.k.a. Blue Beetle, was created by Keith Giffen, John Rogers, and Cully Hamner in 2006. Reyes is a teenager from El Paso, Texas, who discovered a scarab-like alien artifact that fused to his spine and gave him a suit of high-tech armor and superhuman abilities. He is a member of the Teen Titans and the Justice League.
Blue Beetle’s powers and abilities, which come from the alien scarab that was fused to his spine, include High-Tech Armor, Flight, Super Strength, Energy Projection, Healing, Translation, Enhanced Senses, and Adaptive Learning.
The film stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle, Bruna Marquezine as Penny, Belissa Escobedo as Milagros Reyes, George Lopez as Rudy, Adriana Barraza as Nana, Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio, Damián Alcázar as Alberto, Raoul Trujillo as Carapax the Indestructible Man, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, and Harvey Guillén.
The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. Produced by DC Studios, Entertainment One, S&K Pictures, and the Safran Company, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Blue Beetle will hit theaters on August 18, 2023.
