LOOK OUT! DC Studios is releasing the upcoming Supergirl movie trailer this week.
According to Daniel Richtman, the first trailer for Supergirl will reportedly be released online on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
During the annual CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil, Warner Bros. screened the first trailer for Supergirl and revealed the film’s new logo. The trailer opens with Krypto the Superdog casually lifting his leg to pee on a space rock. The next scene cuts to Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl (Milly Alcock), waking up with a massive hangover. After that, the iconic Blondie track kicks in.

Speaking to Forbes, Milly Alcock opened up about her first reaction to landing the role of Supergirl, describing it as a mix of jubilation and fear:
She said, “I thought, ‘What have I done?’ I really struggled to believe I could do it. I even called the director saying, ‘I don’t know how to be that person. I’m just me.’ Eventually, I realized the only way through was to trust myself. I always believe life is right on time. Things happen when they’re supposed to, whether you feel ready or not.”
Speaking to Nerdtropolis, David Krumholtz, who plays Zor-El in the movie, says Supergirl stays faithful to the graphic novel.
Krumholtz said, “Supergirl is very true to the graphic novel it’s based on… I’m thrilled to be the next piece in telling the story of Krypton and further clarifying what the House of El is all about.”
Directed by Craig Gillespie, from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira and based on the comic by Tom King and Evely, the film will serve as the second entry in the DC Universe and the fourth installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Plot details for Supergirl:
While celebrating her 21st birthday, Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), feeling lost and purposeless, travels across the galaxy with her dog Krypto. Along the way, she meets Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), a young alien girl seeking revenge on the warlord Krem (Matthias Schoenaerts), who killed her father. Their journey takes Kara to a planet with a red sun, stripping her of her powers and forcing her to discover what it truly means to be a hero without her superhuman abilities.
The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa making a cameo appearance as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley cast as Elias Knoll, Ruthye’s father.
James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the film, with DC EVP Chantal Nong serving as the executive producer.
Supergirl will hit theaters in the United States on June 26, 2026, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
