The filming for the live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon‘ remake has begun, and director Dean DeBlois has shared a new look at the set. He praised the breathtaking shots, and the top-notch crew, and anticipated seeing them in action.
On Instagram, DeBlois shared an image of himself on the set with the Dragon Blade and shield, writing, “Our first week was a rousing success! The shots are breathtaking, our crew is top-notch, and our cast is amazing! Wait ‘til you see them in action – trust me, they’re FANTASTIC! More on the rest of them soon…” See the image below.
The filming began on June 30, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA, United States, and was halted due to the strikes, then again resumed production in November 2023. Recently, the cast for the live-action adaptation was announced, with Mason Thames and Nico Parker confirmed to play the film’s main leads, taking on the roles of Hiccup and Astrid. The film also stars Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, and Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch.
Produced by Marc Platt Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures, with DeBlois writing the script.
