The film has recently earned an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects. Director Takashi Yamazaki denied reports that ‘Godzilla Minus One’ had a $15 million budget, stating, “I wish it were that much.”

During the Tokyo Comic Con, Yamazaki denied reports from overseas stating that ‘Godzilla Minus One’ had a $15 million budget. He said, “I wish it were that much.”

‘Godzilla Minus One’ is directed by Yamazaki, produced by Toho Studios and Robot, and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd. It’s the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 33rd from Toho, and the fifth in the Reiwa era. The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima, Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi, Yuki Yamada as Shiro Mizushima, Munetaka Aoki as Sosaku Tachibana, Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Noda, Sakura Ando as Sumiko Ota, and Kuranosuke Sasaki as Yoji Akitsu.
