Disney has introduced an AI tool for its employees called DisneyGPT as part of its efforts to expand the use of AI beyond its billion-dollar OpenAI deal by quietly rolling out internal AI tools.
According to Business Insider, one of these tools is DisneyGPT, an internal chatbot used for tasks such as creating IT support tickets, viewing employee directories, and analyzing project finances. Disney introduced a beta version of DisneyGPT to staff in an October 2 email, describing it as a “new partner in productivity” designed to help “unlock the magic of your imagination.”

A longtime Disney software engineer said, “They clearly see where things are headed,” but added that they are “hesitant to rely on AI tools.”
Disney is also developing a more advanced AI assistant codenamed Jarvis, inspired by Iron Man’s J.A.R.V.I.S. Jarvis is expected to be an agentic AI system capable of completing tasks on employees’ behalf, going beyond simple chatbot functions.
According to staff familiar with the project, Jarvis is still in early development and “not fully baked.”
A Disney manager said, “It’s definitely something they want to push for everyone to lean into more.”
For those concerned about AI taking over major company work strategies, Disney said on its site, “That means humans are, and will remain, the creative engine of the company. We believe, fundamentally, that human creativity and curiosity are immense and unique, and are at the heart of Disney.”
