Disney Channel has released the first official trailer for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a spin-off and sequel to Wizards of Waverly Place. The most anticipated part is that Selena Gomez is returning as Alex Russo. Watch the trailer below.
The cast of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place features David Henrie as Justin Russo, Mimi Gianopulos as Giada (Justin’s wife), Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo (Justin’s oldest son and Milo’s older brother), Max Matenko as Milo Russo (Justin’s youngest son and Roman’s younger brother), Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie (a young wizard), and Taylor Cora as Winter (Billie’s best friend). Additionally, Selena Gomez returns as Alex Russo (Justin’s younger sister and Milo and Roman’s aunt), with Maria Canals-Barrera as Theresa Russo (Justin and Alex’s mother and Milo and Roman’s grandmother), David DeLuise as Jerry Russo (Justin and Alex’s father and Milo and Roman’s grandfather), and Jake T. Austin as Max Russo (Justin and Alex’s younger brother and Milo and Roman’s uncle).
What is the Plot of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place?
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.
Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, creators of Raven’s Home, the sequel to That’s So Raven, wrote the pilot episode of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Andy Fickman directed the episode. Elinoff, Thomas, and Fickman are set to executive produce the series alongside stars Gomez and Henrie and Gary Marsh, a former television executive.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will premiere on October 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) on Disney Channel, with the following day’s release on Disney+.
