‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ VOD Release Date Revealed

The VOD release date for DC’s Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story has been confirmed. The film will be available for purchase or rental on digital streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV starting November 1, 2024.

Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui direct the documentary from a screenplay co-written with Otto Burnham. The cast includes Alexandra Reeve Givens, Matthew Reeve, and Will Reeve.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story has scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8.4/10 on IMDb, and 84% on Metacritic.

Never-before-seen home movies and personal archives recount the tragic and redemptive story of actor and activist Christopher Reeve, best known for playing Superman in the ’70s and ’80s films. Following a near-fatal horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down, Reeve devoted his life to disability rights, learning the true meaning of heroism.

The story of Christopher Reeve is an astonishing rise from unknown actor to iconic movie star, and his definitive portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman set the benchmark for the superhero cinematic universes that dominate cinema today. Reeve portrayed the Man of Steel in four ‘Superman’ films and played dozens of other roles that displayed his talent and range as an actor, before being injured in a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
