Warner Bros. and Legendary released the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune: Part Three, starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, and Rebecca Ferguson.
Villeneuve says Dune: Part Three is a thriller and more action-packed than the previous two films. Watch the trailer below.
The teaser shows quick looks at all the main characters, including Javier Bardem’s Stilgar, Anya Taylor-Joy‘s Alia Atreides — Paul’s loyal younger sister — and a first look at Robert Pattinson as the villain Scytale. We do not hear Pattinson speak yet, but his cold stare and light blond hair hint at a strong performance.

The footage ends with Paul, now with a short haircut, getting ready for another battle. “I’m not afraid to die,” he says. “But I must not die yet.”
Villeneuve has confirmed that Dune: Part Three takes place 17 years after the events of “Part Two.”
Villeneuve revealed that the threequel has a different tone, rhythm, and pace as well. “If the first movie was more of a contemplation — like a boy exploring a new world — and the second one was a war movie, this one is more action-packed and tense.”
Paul Atreides is “dealing with the consequences of having too much power, and he is trying to figure out how to get out of this cycle of violence,” he explained. “As an Emperor who can see the future, he’s kind of invincible. But there are people trying to overthrow him.”
Directed by Villeneuve and written by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, Dune: Part Three is based on the novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert and delivers the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy.
