The new ‘Echo‘ trailer, titled “Hurt,” confirms the Netflix Daredevil series as canon and includes footage from the original series.
The first episode will be directed by Sydney Freeland and the rest will be directed by Catriona McKenzie. Marion Dayre serves as the head writer. The show stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene.
‘Echo’ Episode 1 Features 7-Minute Showdown: Maya Lopez vs. Daredevil
In an interview with TV Insider, Freeland says Cox’s Maya Lopez fight with Daredevil in the ‘Echo’ series will be around 7 minutes long. The fight will be featured in Episode 1. Recently, Disney UK previewed Maya Lopez vs. Daredevil fight on Sky Sports (Watch).
Freeland said, “It’s one shot, it’s six minutes long, and the story dictates everything.” As Freeland puts it, “Maya Lopez enters that scene as a teenage girl, but she leaves as a cold-blooded killer. And it was important for me that the audience is able to see that transformation happen in real-time.”
Plot, “Echo’s gripping journey unfolds through poignant flashbacks in the series, unveiling a tragic car accident, the loss of her mother, and the loss of her leg. Her father’s ties to Kingpin and Echo’s training as an enforcer are revealed. Her history with Daredevil from her days under Kingpin’s influence is also explored.”
Marvel recently revealed the first trailer for ‘Echo,’ starring Cox as Maya Lopez. The ‘Echo’ series mainly focuses on Maya’s life, her family, and her history. Cox’s Daredevil will have a cameo appearance, and D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk has a big role. Disney+ confirmed that Echo follows the events of Hawkeye (2021) in New York City, Maya Lopez returns to her hometown, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community.
With five episodes, ‘Echo’ is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2023. You can watch it on Disney+ and Hulu.
