A biopic on Elon Musk is in development at A24, with director Darren Aronofsky, known for “The Whale” and “Black Swan,” at the helm.
The screenplay will be based on Walter Isaacson‘s authorized biography of the tech mogul, published in September. Notably, Isaacson’s previous work, “Steve Jobs,” was adapted into a film in 2015, starring Michael Fassbender as the Apple CEO.
According to Puck, A24 has won the bid for the Elon Musk biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s book after intense competition. Darren Aronofsky, known for films like “Black Swan” and “Mother!,” will direct. The book’s adaptation follows Aronofsky’s Oscar-nominated work on “Black Swan,” where Natalie Portman won Best Actress.
Musk rose to fame in 2002 as the founder of SpaceX and an early investor in Tesla. He became Tesla’s chairman, product architect, and CEO but stepped down as chairman in 2018 after a lawsuit by the SEC. Recently, Musk controversially purchased and rebranded Twitter to X, implementing changes that sparked criticism, including layoffs, user verification fees, and altering link headlines. As of October, Musk is the world’s wealthiest person, with an estimated net worth exceeding $200 billion according to Bloomberg and Forbes.
