Robert Downey Jr. is set to reprise his iconic role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the upcoming Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘.
New Details About Iron Man’s Role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’
According to reports, Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in “Secret Wars” will not be from Earth 616, as he died in ‘Avengers: Endgame‘. Instead, the Iron Man in the movie will come from a different universe. Rumor has it that an A.I. version of Tony Stark, where his consciousness is transferred into an artificial intelligence or robotic body, may make an appearance in the film.
In Marvel Comics, various versions of Iron Man exist. Rumors had circulated that Superior Iron Man, a team member from the Illuminati, would make an appearance in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ However, these scenes were ultimately cut from the film.
Marvel has confirmed two directors for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ either Alfonso Cuarón or Sam Raimi. Michael Waldron, the original scriptwriter, is no longer involved. It was also reported that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is likely setting up a soft reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) within Earth-199999. Serving as a send-off to both the Fox-Verse and the existing MCU, leading to the introduction of a new and different MCU. The film is the 42nd installment in the MCU, serving as the final chapter of Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga. See more details on Secret Wars.
Hugh Jackman has been officially confirmed to reprise his role as Wolverine in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘. Before the strikes, Jackman met Kevin Feige to talk about Wolverine in “Secret Wars.” The film picks up after the events of ‘Deadpool 3‘. Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, is set to be the main villain in “Secret Wars.” It’s unclear if the movie will follow the well-known 1980s storyline where the Beyonder brought Marvel characters to Battleworld. That storyline had a big impact, leading to Venom’s creation.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
