Marvel Studios has revealed a major spoiler in the latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Yes — Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, will appear in the movie as a baby.

The trailer shows Reed and Sue having their baby time with Franklin. The film is more connected to their son. In Marvel Comics, Franklin is one of the most powerful mutants. He can reshape reality at a cosmic level and can create entire universes and beings. So now we can guess what Galactus wanted.

“It feels unusual, in a Marvel movie, that there’s a birth in the middle of it. We’re having to risk things for this baby.”

Kirby also teased that Franklin Richards might have powers:

“It’s not just adults that have superpowers.”

The trailer was released to coincide with the start of ticket sales. It’s reported that the AMC Theatres app crashed due to the high demand for The Fantastic Four: First Steps tickets.

Most recently, The Fantastic Four: First Steps held a test screening, and details have leaked online. The entire film focuses on the Fantastic Four grappling with the inevitability of their extinction. Ineson’s Galactus is considered the highlight of the movie — he has an incredible sense of scale and looks like he was pulled straight from the comics. Also, the post-credits scene is connected to Avengers: Doomsday.

Here’s the plot details for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:

Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
