Here’s the official plot synopsis for Tron: Ares:
Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares (Jared Leto), who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
Directed by Rønning, with a story by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird and a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, the film serves as a sequel to Tron: Legacy (2010) and is the third installment in the Tron franchise.
The film also stars Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger, Lee as Eve Kim, and Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn. Also starring are Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson.
