The first look at Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn in Sam Mendes’ The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event has been revealed.

The Beatles biopic images were shared by Sony Pictures UK as postcards. The postcards were provided to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, which was co-founded by Paul McCartney.

In the images below, Mescal is seen as Paul McCartney, Dickinson as John Lennon, Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Quinn as George Harrison. The project is a four-film Beatles biopic series, with each film focusing on a different band member.

Directed by Sam Mendes, The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event is an upcoming series of four films exploring the lives and careers of The Beatles. The scripts are being written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, Jack Thorne, and Mendes. Each film is told from the perspective of a different band member: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

  • Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evans
  • Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor
  • Adam Pally as Allen Klein

During the announcement, Mendes said, “I’m honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”

The films are produced by Mendes alongside his Neal Street Productions partner Pippa Harris and Neal Street’s Julie Pastor. The project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles – Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison – have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.

The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event is set to be released simultaneously on April 7, 2028.
