Warning: This post contains spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The first look at Sadie Sink‘s character and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been leaked online.
The leaked image shows Bernthal’s Punisher alongside Sink, who is reportedly playing Jean Grey. However, while the image is confirmed to be from the film, the leaked version appears to be AI-enhanced to improve the quality. Several insiders, including The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, MyTimeToShineHello, and others, have reportedly confirmed that the image is real. See it below.
We previously reported that Sink’s Jean Grey has been under Department of Damage Control (DODC) surveillance for a long time. William Metzger (Tramell Tillman), the head of Damage Control, is reportedly hunting her. Frank Castle learns about the case and begins investigating it, which is expected to connect to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Frank then decides to protect Jean Grey from Damage Control.

According to scooper @Cryptic4KQual, Sink’s X-Men character will have a “new visual flair” to her powers in the MCU, with more VFX that take inspiration from X-Men ’97.
“Jean gets the The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Sue Storm treatment. Unlike previous Jean Greys, her powers have a new visual flair. More VFX are involved, and it’s said to resemble her X-Men ’97 counterpart.”
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play the role of Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Here are the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on July 31, 2026.
