Jason Statham is returning as The Beekeeper for the sequel, with filming currently underway in London.
Most recently, Statham was spotted on the set of The Beekeeper 2 while filming an action scene in Canary Wharf, London. Emmy Raver-Lampman was also seen alongside Statham.

In The Beekeeper, Statham plays Adam Clay, a former government assassin who now lives a quiet life as a beekeeper. When his kind landlady (Phylicia Rashad) becomes the victim of a phishing scam, he goes on a mission for revenge. The movie, directed by David Ayer, was a big box office hit, earning $162 million worldwide.
The Beekeeper 2 is directed by Timo Tjahjanto, who recently helmed Nobody 2 for Universal. Jason Statham not only stars in the film but also returns as a producer through his company, Punch Palace Productions. Additional producers include Chris Long (via Longshot Productions) and Kurt Wimmer. The film will be distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios and produced and financed by Miramax.
As of now, there are no plot details for The Beekeeper 2, but in an interview with MovieWeb, Tjahjanto revealed that the sequel will have a strong “genre” feel — something inspired by anime and manga.
Tjahjanto said, “And I think you’re gonna appreciate this because, in terms of the villains that we have for Beekeeper 2, you’re gonna be blown away by how ‘genre’ it feels — almost like something out of an anime or manga pages. I’m so grateful because with The Beekeeper, I said to Jason, ‘Jason, we’re going to make this character somebody who has been through the wringer, and the only thing that keeps him going is his principle.’ He’s pretty much like a Bushido character — a man out of his time — and I think he respects that. Like, yeah, this is the reason why he keeps on going. To quote a favorite comic of mine, ‘Even if God stands in your way, cut him down.’”
