Johnny Depp and Madelyn Cline were spotted filming on the set of Marc Webb‘s Day Drinker aboard the vintage yacht Nero, near Barcelona, Spain. The film follows a private-yacht bartender who meets a mysterious day drinker, only for the two to become unexpectedly entangled in a criminal underbelly.

In the images, Depp looks unrecognizable on set, thanks to dyed grey hair and a beard, while Cline is seen arriving on set. After wrapping scenes in Tenerife, the crew continues production at a local port while awaiting Penélope Cruz‘s arrival.

Here’s the plot details for Day Drinker:
In Day Drinker, a cruise ship bartender (Cruz) meets a mysterious day drinker (Depp), only for the two to find themselves entangled in a criminal underworld and connected unexpectedly.
The film stars Depp as Kelly, Cruz as Cara Lauzzana, Cline as Lorna, as well as Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle in supporting roles.
In a statement, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson said, “Day Drinker combines a highly commercial concept with wildly outrageous twists and turns all set in an incredible world, and there is no better filmmaker than Marc or two more perfectly cast actors than Johnny and Penélope to bring that world to life.”
Webb said, “I’m excited to be starting production with Johnny, Madelyn, Penélope, and this incredible cast.” Webb added, “We’re in a beautiful location with a fantastic crew and a thrilling, ferocious story to tell. This is gonna be fun.”
The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Adam Kolbrenner, and Zach Dean, with production by Thunder Road Films and Infinitum Nihil.
Day Drinker will be released in theaters by Lionsgate in 2026.
