Max has announced the release date for their upcoming rom-com Sweethearts—and revealed the first look images starring Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga. The film follows a pair of college freshmen as they try to break up with their high school sweethearts—all on the same night before Thanksgiving. See the images below.
What is Sweethearts About?
According to HBO’s logline for Sweethearts: “Two college freshmen make a pact to break up with their high school sweethearts over Thanksgiving break, leading them on a chaotic night out in their hometown that puts their codependent friendship to the test.”
Jordan Weiss, the creator of Hulu’s comedy Dollface, makes her directorial debut with Sweethearts. He wrote the script in collaboration with Dan Brier.
The film’s cast also includes Caleb Hearon (Jurassic World Dominion), Tramell Tillman (Severance), Ava Demary (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Charlie Hall (Single Drunk Female), Joel Kim Booster (Loot), and Christine Taylor (High Desert).
The film is produced by Erik Feig and Jessica Switch from Picturestart, with executive producers including Julia Hammer, Samie Kim Falvey, and Shayne Fiske Goldner from Picturestart, as well as Jordan Weiss and Dan Brier.
When Will Sweethearts Premiere?
Sweethearts will premiere on November 28, 2024, on Max.
