Netflix has released the first look at the Duffer Brothers’ new sci-fi series, The Boroughs, which is coming to the platform this year.
Recently, the streamer released a set of images featuring first looks at stars Alfre Woodard as Judy, Alfred Molina as Sam, Geena Davis as Renee, and Bill Pullman as Jack. The series follows a group who band together at a retirement home to stop a monster that threatens to steal their time. See the images below.


Here are the plot details for The Boroughs:
“Set in a retirement community, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop a supernatural monster from stealing the one thing they don’t have: time.”


The Boroughs stars Bill Pullman as Jack, Geena Davis as Renee, Clarke Peters as Art, Alfred Molina as Sam, Alfre Woodard as Judy, Denis O’Hare as Wally, Jena Malone as Claire, Carlos Miranda as Paz, Seth Numrich as Blaine, and Alice Kremelberg as Anneliese, with recurring roles played by Rafael Casal as Neil, Ed Begley Jr. as Edward, Jane Kaczmarek as Lilly, Eric Edelstein as Hank, Dee Wallace as Grace, and Mousa Hussein Kraish as Dr. McGinnis.
Ben Taylor (Catastrophe) is directing multiple episodes of The Boroughs, including the pilot, and will also serve as an executive producer alongside the Duffer Brothers, Hilary Leavitt, Jeffrey Addiss, and Will Matthews for Upside Down Pictures.
During the announcement, the Duffer Brothers said, “While the heroes in The Boroughs have a few more years on them than the kids from Stranger Things, they are a similarly lovable bunch of misfits, and we can’t wait for you to join them on an adventure that is at turns scary, funny, and deeply touching.”
The Boroughs will premiere on Netflix in 2026.
