Peacock has revealed the first look at Roland Emmerich’s ‘Those About to Die‘ series, a story based on the world of gladiators in Ancient Rome, starring Anthony Hopkins.
The show is developed by Robert Rodat, based on Daniel P. Mannix’s nonfiction classic of the same name, and directed by Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner.
Plot Details:
“Set in the corrupt world of spectacle-driven gladiatorial competition, exploring a side of ancient Rome never before told—the dirty business of entertaining the masses, giving the mob what they want most—blood and sport. The series introduces an ensemble of characters from all corners of the Roman Empire who collide at the intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties.”

The show consists of 10 episodes, with Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner directing five episodes each.
