Lionsgate Movies has released the first trailer for the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas. The film’s official title is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, and it is coming to theaters in June 2025.
The trailer shows that Ana de Armas has perfected her action style. The way she loads the gun closely resembles John Wick’s technique. She plays the role of Eve Macarro, who seeks vengeance for her father’s murder, with the story taking place between the third and fourth John Wick movies. At the end of the trailer, we see Keanu Reeves and de Armas having a conversation. Watch the trailer above.
What is the Plot of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina?
“Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.”
Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, the film also stars Anjelica Huston as ‘The Director,’ Gabriel Byrne as the main antagonist, Lance Reddick as Charon, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane reprising his role as Winston Scott, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and David Castañeda.
McShane told Variety, that ‘Ballerina’ is a very different John Wick film. They’ve added three scenes from ‘The Continental’ show.
McShane said, “‘Ballerina’ is very different.” McShane added, “We had these three scenes, and we added another couple of scenes at the Continental.” He attributes his willingness to make suggestions with Winston to the confidence that Stahelski has placed in him throughout the series. “Chad trusts me with knowing my character, so I try to bring a little twist to it each time.”
Based on characters by Derek Kolstad, ‘Ballerina’ is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski, with production companies Summit Entertainment, Thunder Road Films, and 87North Productions.
