Jamie Lee Curtis gives an update about the Freaky Friday sequel. Lee Curtis says that both she and Lindsay Lohan are committed to making a Freaky Friday 2. She told, “It’s Disney’s to make, and I think they’re interested, and we are talking.”
Freaky Friday was a fantasy-comedy film released in 2003. The film is based on Rodgers’ 1972 novel of the same name. The film follows An single mother Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) couldn’t be more different, and it is driving them both insane. After receiving cryptic fortunes at a Chinese restaurant, the two wake up and realize their bodies swapped. Unable to switch back, they are forced to masquerade as one another until a solution can be found. In the process, they develop a new sense of respect and understanding for one another. The film grossed $160.8 million worldwide with a $26 million budget.
Speaking to Variety while the premiere of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Jamie Lee Curtis hinted that making a ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel with Lindsay Lohan is committed. Lee Curtis told “We’re talking. People are talking. The right people are talking . . . We (she and Lohan) are both committed to it. It’s not ours to make — it’s Disney’s to make, and I think they’re interested. And we are talking.”
As per El Sol de Cuautla, Lee Curtis is in favor of doing a sequel with Lindsay Lohan to Freaky Friday. “Absolutely. In fact, my answer would be duhh! Lindsay Lohan and I are friends, I recently read something that sent me. We just texted, and he said to me, ‘Hey, Jamie is Lindsey’ and I said, ‘Yes, show it! I’m testing people to make sure they’re them and that it’s not a scam or telephone information theft… no, good, A Crazy Friday remake, absolutely!” she said.
The sequel will be another body-swapping film. Disney already started to deliver the blockbuster sequel. Recently, released the Enchanted sequel with Disenchanted, Hocus Pocus 2, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.
The Freaky Friday first film also stars Harold Gould, Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ryan Malgarini, Christina Vidal, Haley Hudson, Rosalind Chao, Lucille Soong, Julie Gonzalo, Willie Garson, Dina Waters, and Cayden Boyd.
