Gwyneth Paltrow, who played the role of Virginia “Pepper” Potts in the Iron Man movies, has revealed why fans won’t see her in any more MCU movies.
According to Paltrow, since Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man had many fans and he died in Avengers: Endgame, and Pepper Potts was always Tony Stark’s backbone, she doesn’t want to return to the MCU without Downey Jr.’s Stark.
In a Q&A on Paltrow’s Instagram stories, she was asked by a fan about her absence from recent Marvel Studios projects after “Endgame.”
Paltrow replied, “Oh my god, stop yelling at me! We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died, and why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know; call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Rescue’ Armor in Avengers: Endgame
Before, there were rumors that Gwyneth Paltrow might come back in the Spider-Man movies after “Endgame.” However, she confirmed she won’t return. In “Avengers: Endgame,” she wears an Iron Man suit known as “Rescue.” The suit is blue and silver and can fly and shoot repulsors. She fights alongside the Avengers against Thanos, showing her determination to help.
In the MCU, Pepper Potts remains the CEO of Stark Industries, overseeing the company and safeguarding Stark’s technology and armor from villains.
The upcoming MCU movie “Armor Wars,” starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, was initially planned as a miniseries but was converted into a full feature film. The storyline involves Tony Stark’s technology and armor being stolen, leading to the development of unauthorized armor by a group of antagonists.
‘Armor Wars’ will hit theaters in 2025.
