Robert Downey Jr‘s Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Pepper Potts had a close relationship in the MCU. Potts was Stark’s personal assistant before becoming his love interest. During the first public appearance of Stark after his return. Stark met Potts in a blue gown at the party and danced with her. After that, they move outside and kiss. In Iron Man 2 Stark appoints Potts as the CEO of Stark Industries. She was previously working as Tony Stark’s personal assistant, she would take care of his schedule and perform any task he wished. During this time, Potts became good friends with Stark and soon, they had begun developing romantic feelings for each other. However, neither was able to act on these feelings, as they each feared that the other would not accept them.

Iron Man has grossed over $585 million. The film received two nominations at the 81st Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects.
