Hugh Jackman, who is known for playing Wolverine in the X-men film series revealed that he called Ryan Reynolds in late August to say he wanted to return as Wolverine for ‘Deadpool 3’. After a month, An update came from Reynolds that Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine in ‘Deadpool 3’ with a new logo. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
Speaking to Variety in a new article “The Story of Hugh Jackman in Five Acts”, Jackman told “In late August, he finally made the decision. He called Reynolds, who’d been pleading “on the daily” for a Wolverine-Deadpool movie. “I think, actually, he’d given up,” Jackman says. “I think it was a big shock to him. There was a massive pause, and then he said, ‘I can’t believe the timing of this.’”
Jackman told that Reynolds met Marvel Studios Boss Kevin Feige to include Jackman’s Wolverine in the film. he told “Oh my God, I’m thrilled,” Reynolds tells me. “It’s like old home week. To get to be on set with one of my closest friends each and every day is a dream come true. But to do it with these two iconic characters side by side, that’s beyond our wildest dreams.” Reynolds adds that the first time he talked to Feige — three and a half years ago after Disney bought Fox — he’d pushed for bringing in Wolverine. “It wasn’t possible then,” Reynolds says. “For this to be happening now is pretty damn exciting.”
The film is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. As of now, the confirmed cast is Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Morena Baccarin, and Stefan Kapicic. The rest of the cast update will be revealed soon
Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
