‘Hypnotic’ Review:
According to our review, ‘Hypnotic’ struggles to find its own unique voice amidst familiar tropes and concepts borrowed from other films. While it has moments of intrigue and an ambitious vision, the execution falls short of its potential. With Ben Affleck’s performance feeling somewhat detached and the overall story lacking cohesion, the film ultimately disappoints by not fully capitalizing on its promising premise.
The film also stars Alice Braga as Diana Cruz, J. D. Pardo as Nicks, Hala Finley as Minnie, Ionie Olivia Nieves as 7-year-old Minnie, Dayo Okeniyi as River, Jeff Fahey as Car, Jackie Earle Haley as Jeremiah, William Fichtner as Dellrayne, Zane Holtz as Trout, Kelly Frye as Vivian, and Sandy Avila as Thelma.
Produced by Mark Gill, Guy Botham, Lisa Ellzey, Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Racer Max, and Robert Rodriguez.
‘Hypnotic’ was released in theaters on May 12, 2023, by Ketchup Entertainment.
