There was a 48% drop for John Wick: Chapter 4 last weekend at the box office because of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Both films are doing unexpectedly well at the box office. The Super Mario Bros. Movie earned $377 million at its worldwide box office opening weekend, making it the highest worldwide opening ever for an animated movie.
“John Wick” (2014) made $14.4 million in its first weekend in the United States, “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017) grossed $30.4 million, “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019) grossed $56.8 million, and finally “John Wick: Chapter 4” made $73.5 million in its opening weekend and become the biggest opening ever for the franchise. The upcoming film in the John Wick franchise is a spin-off titled Ballerina, starring Ana De Armas, which is scheduled to hit theaters on June 7, 2024. The film is the first spin-off of the John Wick franchise and is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). Keanu Reeves will also appear in the film along with De Armas.
