Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy says she is expecting to see Steven Knight’s script for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s ‘Star Wars‘ movie within the next month and a half. “We’ve been working on that for quite a while.”
During Saturday’s Ahsoka panel, Kennedy told Yahoo UK that a script is imminent amid speculation over which of the three films might release first. She said, “We’ve been working on that film for a few years, and all of that feeds into our overall storytelling.”
Kennedy added, “So we’ve just got to a point now where we’ve got a wonderful writer in Steven Knight; he’s come on board, and we’re going to see a script probably in the next month and a half that we’ve been working on for quite a while.”
Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ in 2023. According to creator Dave Filoni, Ahsoka is a continuous story. It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older—they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be. Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
