Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy says she is expecting to see Steven Knight’s script for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s ‘Star Wars‘ movie within the next month and a half. “We’ve been working on that for quite a while.”
During Saturday’s Ahsoka panel, Kennedy told Yahoo UK that a script is imminent amid speculation over which of the three films might release first. She said, “We’ve been working on that film for a few years, and all of that feeds into our overall storytelling.”
Kennedy added, “So we’ve just got to a point now where we’ve got a wonderful writer in Steven Knight; he’s come on board, and we’re going to see a script probably in the next month and a half that we’ve been working on for quite a while.”
Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ in 2023. According to creator Dave Filoni, Ahsoka is a continuous story. It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older—they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be.
