‘The Marvels‘ and ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘ both include one post-credit scene.
As previously reported, ‘The Marvels’ was initially expected to include two post-credit scenes. In the first post-credits scene, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) wakes up in a hospital and sees her mom, Maria Rambeau, dressed as Captain Marvel from “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” It suggests that this scene takes place in a different universe where Maria is also Captain Marvel, rather than Earth-838. This scene parallels episode 4 of “WandaVision” where Monica wakes up in a hospital and discovers her mom is missing.
In the second post-credits scene, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has a tablet for keeping tabs on all the heroes currently active. At the end of the film, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) takes the tablet and tracks down Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). To Kate’s surprise, Kamala shows up at the Bishop’s residence. Kamala tells Kate about the events of The Marvels and how the Young Heroes need to team up. She asks Kate, “Did you know Scott Lang has a daughter? 399” – setting up the Young Avengers.
On Twitter, ‘Distroyer Leaks‘ has revealed a post-credit scene showing the first meeting between Vellani’s Kamala and Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, potentially hinting at the Young Avengers’ emergence. Watch it below.
Directed by Nia DaCosta, the film also holds the record of being the most expensive movie ever directed by a black woman, surpassing Ava DuVernay’s ‘A Wrinkle In Time’. The film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Park Seo-joon, Zawe Ashton, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur. The film also brings back Goose, the Flerken.
In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”
The film had a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes (107 minutes). Rated PG-13 for action/violence and brief language.
‘The Marvels’ will hit theaters on November 10, 2023.
