Lego has revealed its new collaboration with Nintendo: a brick-built Piranha Plant for your desk or shelf, and it’s budget-friendly, costing less than $100. Nintendo and Lego have been partners for a while, creating Super Mario-themed sets, but this one won’t break the bank like their previous big and pricey releases, such as Bowser for $270 and the Super Mario 64 block for $170.
Super Mario Gets a Budget-Friendly Lego Upgrade with Piranha Plant Set
On Twitter (X), Lego teased their new Lego Super Mario set with the message, hinting at its imminent arrival with the message, “Waking soon… Discover the newest Lego Super Mario set emerging from our pipeline…“
In the clip, you can see a Piranha Plant model, and it plays the music from Super Mario 64 when a Piranha Plant is asleep.
You can already find this item on the official Lego store website. It’s set to be released on November 6 and costs $59.99 / £57.99. This Piranha Plant set includes 540 pieces and stands 9 inches tall, making it the smallest of Lego’s adult Nintendo sets. It’s perfect as a fun centerpiece for your home or office.
This is the fourth Lego set for adults with a Nintendo theme. There was the Lego NES in 2020, a Lego Super Mario 64 block in 2021, and Lego Bowser in 2022. Lego has also made Sonic the Hedgehog sets and an Atari 2600 console. They even built a Lego Tallneck from Horizon Forbidden West.
