Marvel is considering Anya Taylor-Joy for the role of a villain in the ‘Fantastic Four‘ reboot, with filming scheduled to begin in January 2024 at Pinewood Studios in England.
Who is reportedly considered for the female villain role in ‘Fantastic Four’?
According to reports, Taylor-Joy is being considered for the female villain role, which we recently mentioned would feature a female Silver Surfer as the herald of Galactus in the film. Note: This is a rumor; the star has not signed any contract, and Marvel has not confirmed it yet.
In Marvel Comics Earth-829, there was a female herald for Galactus a decade ago named Juno, aka Silver Surfer, who is also a Marvel character. In Fantastic Four, Galactus is confirmed as the main villain, and Antonio Banderas was offered the role a few months ago, but now Javier Bardem is reportedly being eyed.
Directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Recently, Pedro Pascal has signed to play the role of Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic. The rumored cast includes Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mister Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing. However, no contracts for the film have been signed yet.
Anya Taylor-Joy is best known for her roles in movies like ‘The Witch,’ ‘Split,’ and ‘Glass.’ She gained acclaim for her work in ‘The Queen’s Gambit,’ winning a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Taylor-Joy has also starred in projects like ‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘Emma,’ and recent films such as ‘Last Night in Soho,’ ‘The Northman,’ ‘The Menu,’ and ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ (2023).
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Grant Curtis, and Nick Pepin.
‘Fantastic Four’ will hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
