Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again has completed its first test screenings. According to insider reports, the Marvel-Disney+ series has a more mature and gritty tone than the Netflix series.
The test screenings for Daredevil: Born Again received very positive feedback. The runtime for the nine-episode first season will be approximately one hour per episode. Also, there will be several cameos, and a funeral scene is featured in the first episode.
In a recent interview at ABC’s On The Red Carpet Storytellers Spotlight stage during D23, Brad Winderbaum—Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios—stated that New York City in Daredevil: Born Again is “as intricate, problematic, and scary as the world of Game of Thrones.“
Winderbaum said, “All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark-but also there’s light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it.”
Daredevil: Born Again was co-directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, with Dario Scardapane serving as the showrunner, replacing Matt Corman and Chris Ord.
According to the show’s new plot, Marvel Studios presents Daredevil: Born Again, in which longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) attempt to leave behind their darker alter egos to serve the people of New York, only to have their pasts catch up with them.
The new cast for Daredevil: Born Again includes Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn and Nikki M. James as Kristen McDuffie, both of whom were love interests of Murdock in Marvel Comics. Also, Michael Gandolfini will portray Daniel Blade, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Genneya Walton as BB Urich.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. Also, Season 1, Part 2 is scheduled to begin filming in November 2024.
