Marvel Studios has revealed the first trailer for ‘Echo,’ starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, also known as Echo. The series is set to be the most intense and TV-MA-rated MCU show to date. Watch the trailer below.
In the trailer, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is seen brutally attacking an ice cream seller who taunted a young Maya Lopez and refused to give her ice cream. The trailer indicates that the series will include intense violence, and there’s a scene where Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is shown fighting Maya.
The ‘Echo’ series mainly focuses on Maya’s life, her family, and her history. Cox’s Daredevil will have a cameo appearance, and D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk has a big role. Disney+ confirmed that Echo follows the events of Hawkeye (2021) in New York City, Maya Lopez returns to her hometown, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community.
The first episode will be directed by Sydney Freeland and the rest will be directed by Catriona McKenzie. Marion Dayre serves as the head writer. The show also stars Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene.
Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, and Richie Palmer, along with Dayre and Jason Gavin, are the executive producers, while Freeland serves as a co-executive producer. The series is also produced by 20th Television.
When is the premiere date for ‘Echo’?
‘Echo’ will have five episodes and is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2023. You can watch it on Disney+ and Hulu.
