“Hulk smash!” is coming for Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man.
Following the confirmation of Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we’ve received information from a recent Disney Merch Conference attendee that Savage Hulk is reportedly being positioned as the main antagonist in Brand New Day.
According to our source, multiple villains are confirmed to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including Tarantula, Scorpion, Boomerang, Tombstone, and Savage Hulk.

Nexus Point News recently reported that Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/The Hulk will have a “substantial role” comparable to his appearance in Thor: Ragnarok.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day was originally supposed to take place between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, with the release dates for Doomsday and Secret Wars delayed, the entire plot has changed. The previous draft of Brand New Day followed the events of Avengers: Doomsday. In it, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, his peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With the stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.
Filming is scheduled to begin in late July 2025 in the United Kingdom. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and a production budget of $200 million.
The film stars Holland returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ Watson, and Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles. Additionally, Marvel Studios is casting for three new roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Two of these roles are for villains — one male and one female. Michael Mando is expected to reprise his Spider-Man: Homecoming role as Mac Gargan.
An insider report recently revealed that Sarah Snook is being considered for the role of a secondary villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while Sink is set to play Mayday Parker—who is connected to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man universe as the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane “MJ” Watson.
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on July 31, 2026.
