Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts‘ filming kicks off in Atlanta’s Trilith Studios and in New York in March 2024, as confirmed by Production Weekly.
What is ‘Thunderbolts’ Film About?
‘Thunderbolts’ were a team of reformed super-criminals. However, the team was originally conceived by Baron Helmut Zemo under Citizen V in a cover to steal the city’s resources and to place themselves in a position of trust by convincing the authorities that they were heroes. They recruited Goliath as Atlas, Moonstone as Meteorite, Beetle as Mach-I, Fixer as Techno, and Screaming Mimi as Songbird. However, the team reformed and became a true force for good in the world.
Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz Return to Marvel
Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov in ‘Thunderbolts’. Fishburne plays the surrogate father to Hannah John-Kamen’s phasing thief Ghost, while Weisz portrays the villainous mother-figure spy to Florence Pugh‘s character.
Directed by Jake Schreier from a script written by Lee Sung Jin and Eric Pearson. The plot details are kept secret in the Marvel database. Also, Schreier has already confirmed that the ‘Thunderbolts’ will consist of individuals who share a common history of past trauma.
‘Thunderbolts’ stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Sadie Sink as Songbird, and Geraldine Viswanathan as Erin.
Lewis Pullman has been cast as Sentry in ‘Thunderbolts,’ stepping in after the exit of Steven Yeun.
