Marvel Studios Has Finalized The Filming Date For Thunderbolts
Marvel’s Thunderbolts is reportedly set to begin filming on June 5, 2023, as confirmed by the Production List. The filming will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.
Thunderbolts is a group of supervillains recruited to go on missions for the government. The star-studded cast includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Ayo Edebiri, and Steven Yeun.
According to reports, Florence Pugh, who plays the role of Yelena Belova in the film will be paid an eight-figure paycheck for Thunderbolts.
In an interview with Total Film, via GamesRadar, Pugh said she is “grateful” to return as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts. She said, “I don’t know how much I’m supposed to say actually! But I just want to say on this topic: I’m incredibly grateful to be moving forward with the MCU. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the original experience and to be able to step back into that world again in my old character.”
Directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, The film serves as a sequel to Black Widow, the Hawkeye Series, and Captain America: New World Order. Kevin Feige, Brian Chapek, and Matthew Jenkins are producing.
In an interview, Marvel Boss Kevin Feige revealed that the casting of heroes and Bucky Barnes will be a rallying point for the team. He said, “They are barely heroes. None of them would consider themselves heroes. When your de facto leader is Bucky Barnes, that’s sort of all you need to know. That’s the trickle-down. But again, it goes to the amazing work that [casting director] Sarah Finn has done across the whole MCU. You’ve got David Harbour and Florence Pugh and these people who are at the top of their game and popping in everything they’re doing. They’re already here and established in the MCU, and we get to build the movie around them.”
Thunderbolts is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
