Matt Damon and Casey Affleck have joined the cast of ‘The Instigators’ for Apple TV+, with Doug Liman set to direct. The film follows two thieves who must go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a robbery goes awry.
Directed by Doug Liman from a script written by Chuck Maclean and developed by Robinov, Graham, and Casey Affleck. The film is produced by Damon and Ben Affleck through their newly announced banner, Artists Equity, along with Jeff Robinov and John Graham through Studio 8 and Kevin Walsh through his The Walsh Company.
Damon and Casey were recently spotted with film crews at a Boston firehouse. A video captures film crews lining up next to the Charles River today to film a police chase scene.
The film marks Affleck and Damon’s newly formed studio, Artists Equity, which partners with filmmakers to empower creative vision and broaden access to profit participation. Affleck and Damon’s relationship spans decades and began with the Oscar-winning drama Good Will Hunting.
The Instigators will mark the reunion of Damon and Liman who help to launch e Jason Bourne series with The Bourne Identity in 2002, which starred Damon and Liman directed.
Damon, Casey Affleck, and Ben Affleck are represented by WME and Ziffren Brittenham LLP. Liman is repped by CAA.
