Warning: This post contains spoilers for the X-Men reboot movie.
The MCU’s X-Men reboot is starting with the original lineup from the comics, and new cast rumor details have been revealed.
According to Jeff Sneider (via The Hot Mic podcast), the upcoming X-Men reboot is now in pre-production, and it will begin with the original five characters from the 1963 comics.
Jeff also revealed that the characters featured in the X-Men movie, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, and Angel, will appear in the MCU’s mutant saga.
It has already been confirmed that Sadie Sink is playing the role of Jean Grey, and she will make her first appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

It is also reported that Odessa A’Zion (Marty Supreme) and Peter Claffey (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) are on Marvel’s radar to join the X-Men reboot film. Odessa is expected to portray Rogue, while Peter could play Beast.
According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is not in the current draft of the MCU’s X-Men movie, with no plans to feature the character in the first film.
The film will be directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*) from a script written by Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear). A rumor from Filmbase.UK states that the X-Men movie will begin filming in the UK later this year.
In a recent interview with Deadline, X-Men co-writer Lee Sung Jin talked about working on the film.
Sung said, “Jake [Schreier] wants to breathe fresh life into this franchise. It’s early, but we’ve been meeting with Kevin [Feige] and Louis [D’Esposito] regularly. I think true fans will be excited.”
Schreier told Collider that Marvel Studios is already thinking about the long-term future of the X-Men franchise. The team is discussing different directions the story could take and exploring how to adapt storylines from the comics.
Jake Schreier said, “I think, obviously, first things first: we have to make one great movie.” He added, “We always have an eye on the future as we’re talking about it. We ask: what are the different places this can go? What parts of the comics have been explored? What hasn’t been explored as much, and how can that be incorporated? And what are some of the different avenues we could take that feel like less-trodden paths? Those ideas are always out there as we continue our discussions.”
Marvel has planned three movie release dates for 2028. While fans assumed X-Men would take the first spot, Jeff says Deadpool 4 might begin first after Avengers: Secret Wars. This could lead to a 2028 lineup of Deadpool 4, X-Men, and Black Panther 3.
