Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot is still a long way from production, and nothing has been heard yet about filming from the studio. Following rumors of the movie being canceled, Mia Goth, who joined the cast a while ago, has confirmed that she is still set to star in the Blade film.
In a recent interview with Elle, Goth confirmed she’s still attached to the long-delayed Blade reboot, as the film has faced multiple production delays and creative changes since its announcement. Although Goth did not provide any new production updates, she said only: “It’s for the best that it’s taken the time that it has. They want to do it right.”

There are strong rumors that Mia Goth’s role in the Blade movie is Lilith, the daughter of Vlad Dracula, also known as Dracula, Lord of the Vampires. Recently, insider Daniel Richtman revealed that production for Blade is expected to resume in 2026. For now, Blade is on hold but not canceled, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Mahershala Ali have yet to finalize the script.
During an interview with Variety, David S. Goyer, writer of the original Blade trilogy, revealed that he offered to help with the Blade reboot script, but Marvel Studios turned him down.
Goyer said, “I had my agent call Marvel and say, ‘Do you guys need any help?’ And they said, ‘We love you, but we think we’ve cracked it now, and we’re in a good place.’ And then the latest thing happened. So no, they haven’t contacted me.”
Goyer shared his reaction to seeing Blade appear in Deadpool & Wolverine:
“I’ve got three sons, so we went in and saw the movie together — and that happened. I was just like, ‘Holy crap!’ Never in a million years would I have expected that.”
In an interview, Marvel Zombies creator Bryan Andrews said he hopes the live-action Blade film draws inspiration from the animated series.

“I’m glad that when people see the little bit that was in the trailer, they give us props and say that’s amazing — and that Blade better be that cool. I just hope Kevin Feige is listening.”
The release date for Blade is to be announced (TBA).
