Anora star Mikey Madison describes Quentin Tarantino as her “absolute hero” and credits him as one of the main reasons she pursued acting.
Madison played the role of Sadie in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In a recent chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Madison said Tarantino is her true hero. She was 19 years old when she landed an audition for one of his projects. Viewing the audition as her one chance to meet him, she decided to give it her all.
Madison said, “One of the reasons I wanted to be an actor was because of Quentin Tarantino, and that’s why I went for this audition.”
Madison continued, “I think I was 19 years old, and I thought: This is my only chance to meet Quentin Tarantino. So I’m going to do the best I can.”

In an interview with Elle, Madison said she hopes to continue acting in films well into her 90s. She is not in a hurry to select her next project and prefers to take her time, waiting for a role or project she deeply connects with—whether it finds her or she discovers it herself.
Madison said, “I would love to be making movies that I feel very passionate about until I’m 90 years old. I’m not in a rush to find the next thing. I’m waiting for something that I fall in love with to come to me, or for me to find.”
Her recent film, Sean Baker‘s rom-com Anora, was released theatrically on October 18, 2024, by Neon. The film received a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a 4.3/5 on Letterboxd, a 92% on Metacritic, and an 8.2/10 on IMDb. Additionally, the digital release date has been revealed.
